Case Studies
A series of solo exhibitions in Montclair State University’s Kassar Theater Lobby.

Featuring Joseph Parra, Damien Davis, Justin Cloud, and Hiliary Gabryel
Curated by Jesse Bandler Firestone
Montclair State University Gallery, September 14, 2022 - July 31, 2024

Joseph Parra’s paintings in the edge of flesh and blood explore the larger consequences of searching for validation, inspiration, and intimacy through digital images by asking “How does desire change when life is mediated through screens?”

Damien Davis‘ OLD CURRENCIES brings together new and recent works by Damien Davis, on loan from Uprise Art, that explore Blackness through symbols, shapes, colors, and digital technology.
